Our Mission

DÓXA THEÓ CHRISTIAN SCHOOL is an independent primary school that aims to provide and excellent, biblically-based primary education covering all recommended curriculum areas. It is our aim to teach, develop, train and graduate young men and women who have learned to be gracious and generous, and to oppose inequality and injustice, which are a result of living in a Fallen world. We hope that this will be rooted in them looking at the teaching and example of Jesus Christ as defined in the Word of God.

More information about our faith and principles in education can be found in our Constitution. Our full Mission Statement can be found in a copy of our prospectus.

Our Building

Our building is located at 7 Don Place, AB24 2SF. It is a small church building which is currently still being used by Grace Baptist Church Aberdeen. The congregation is set to move to their new premise in Spring 2025, allowing for the building to be exclusively used as a school building. The building comes with a large car park area, which will serve as a play space for children. Plans to make significant changes to the building and the car park have been drawn up and will be put into action once the congregation has moved.

Our Expectations for Parents

At Dóxa Theó, we hold that the responsibility for educating and training children lies with their parents. As a school we see ourselves as entering into a partnership with parents rather than taking over this responsibility. As any partnership is most effective if both parties fulfill their duties to the best of their ability, we have expectations for parents, which go beyond the expectations of most common schools. This includes an enthusiasm and support for our school's mission and work as well as active participation in it. A full list of expectations for parents can be found in a copy of our prospectus.

Our Commitment

DÓXA THEÓ CHRISTIAN SCHOOL is committed to providing the highest quality of education, suitable for a wide range of intellectual abilities, to promote the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of every child. We aim to offer clear instruction that encourages and enables children to develop a Reformed, biblical, Christian worldview, to the Glory of God, with the help of His grace. We understand that the responsibility of raising and educating children lies with their parents and it is our desire to be helpful in fulfiling this responsibiliy. As such we are committed to communicating openly and with integrity about the child's educational progress, behaviour and wellbeing.

Shaking Hands

Age Groups and Class Sizes

We aim to start teaching a composite class, covering different stages from P1 to P7 in January 2025. Initially we are limited to a  maximum capacity of 15 pupils due to building restrictions. Our building will undergo changes within the foreseeable future, which will expand our capacity. We will always endeavour to keep our class sizes small to ensure that each child can receive the attention it needs from teachers and assistants.

In the Classroom

Classical Christian Education

Our school is working towards establishing a Classical Christian education. This incorporates teaching Biblical truth and curriculum areas through phases of learning called the Trivium. This consists of grammar, logic and rhetoric.

Our Expectations for Pupils

As an institution striving to establish a Classical Christian education, we have high expectations of our pupils both in the area of academic rigor and good behaviour. This is based on our desire to see children apply Biblical commands and principles in their everyday choices and behaviour.
